Plot Summary:In 1970s Iran, Marjane 'Marji' Statrapi watches events through her young eyes and her idealistic family of a long dream being fulfilled of the hated Shah's defeat in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. However as Marji grows up, she witnesses first hand how the new Iran, now ruled by Islamic fundamentalists, has become a repressive tyranny on its own. With Marji dangerously refusing to remain silent at this injustice, her parents send her abroad to Vienna to study for a better life. However, this change proves an equally difficult trial with the young woman finding herself in a different culture loaded with abrasive characters and profound disappointments that deeply trouble her. Even when she returns home, Marji finds that both she and homeland have changed too much and the young woman and her loving family must decide where she truly belongs.

这是我又一次的对伊朗的发展历史有了一个实质性的了解。宗教革命、两伊战争带来的是千千万万平民的牺牲，以及对于女性和人类欲望的禁锢。但是片中的“我”是无比幸运的，它有一直支持自己的家庭，送她去国外，希望她远离伊朗拥有自由的人生的父母。但是人的情感是复杂的，战火纷飞、禁锢人类思想的伊朗依然是“我”最本质的家。
对比原著 剧情还是不够丰满，略感失望
要永远自尊，要永远诚实
去年看了书，今年来补电影。动态的画面更能感受到无助。在糟糕的大环境下偷生，却不知到底是谁让大环境如此。离开似乎是条出路，可实际上，反而成为故乡和异乡的他乡人。
